Enfield FEASTS! With Rosamund Grant
Join us for a special evening with acclaimed cookery writer, consultant, and Caribbean food expert Rosamund Grant. A pioneering voice in Caribbean cuisine in the UK, Rosamund is also the former owner of the much-loved restaurant Bambaya in Crouch End, where she introduced diners to the vibrant, layered flavours of Caribbean cooking.
Rosamund is the author of several influential cookbooks, including Caribbean and African Cooking (1995), Taste of Africa (1999), and Taste of the Caribbean (2001). She also appeared as one of the “Hot Chefs” on the BBC television series of the same name, sharing her expertise and passion for bold, soulful cooking with a national audience.
In 2001, Rosamund’s oral history was recorded by the British Library as part of the National Life Stories Collection* and the Food: From Source to Salespoint archive, recognising her important contribution to the story of food culture in Britain.
The evening begins with welcome drinks and canapés, followed by a panel conversation exploring Caribbean culinary traditions, Rosamund’s remarkable career, and the cultural stories behind the dishes she champions. Guests will then enjoy an intimate multi-course dining experience inspired by the rich flavours and techniques of Caribbean cooking.
Beyond her writing and culinary work, Rosamund remains deeply committed to community. She volunteers locally, preparing meals for charities, food banks, and Haringey Street Kitchen**, continuing to share food as a way of bringing people together.
